to sophie--
thank you for your extraordinary dedication and commitment to helping
my brother and our country. it's an extraordinary and inspiring example
of what young americans can do. -- Cam Kerry
(when robert read this he pointed out that i got TWO extraordinaries from cam kerry... which umm means nothing but yeah)
umm yeah that is written inside a of "our plan for america, stronger at home, respected in the world" by john kerry and john edwards.
um yeah it really nice b/c they tried to surprise me but umm i found
out anyway but yeah. basically the story is that cam kerry came to the
seattle headquarters on thursday and spoke in front of like 60 women in
our conference room (which comfortably fits like 30) and then umm
presented me and this other woman w/ signed books. umm yeah it was
really cool. also he seems like a really nice guy. i didn't really get
to talk to him but clara told me this story about how we offered him
water during the speech and he had refused and then she offered it to
him after the event and he told her how he didn't want to take it when
everyone else was really hot too. i thought that was really nice.
and friday was really sad (sorry comment you can really stop reading
this now i am basically just going to talk about a bunch of people that
no one who reads this knows sooo yeah if you are reading this still you
really dont have to) because it was the last day for a bunch of the
interns and i am really sad. three interns from our office and a bunch
from upstairs. im going to miss clara and rebecca but clara and i are
going to be pen pals b/c we both like getting mail sooo it's going to
be awesome. actually the person im going to miss the most is one the
interns upstairs who i am ummm in love with? no jk but i like him alot.
and i forgot to say goodbye to him and im basically never going to see
him again. im really sad. but we did take a picture with alot of the
interns and he was right behind me soo that made MY day. and yeah we
went to lunch with umm as many of the people in our office who there
and it was umm pretty fun. dan also decided that every staff member
should give us pieces of wisdom which umm weren't very wise.
yeah sorry i know i talk about my work ALOT. mostly because it is the
only thing i do but also because i really really like it. and basically
all of the people are really interesting and cool. and i talked to umm
bruce bailey on thursday b/c he was at the cam kerry event and we
talked about getting students and teachers involved in the campaign.
apparently he is friends w/ amy's dad (amy barker, who is an intern at
my work and also a lakeside alum) so then amy was telling me how we
should get a speaker to come to one of our assemblies which would be
umm awesome. and basically we want to organize w/ a bunch of schools to
get high school students to come and volunteer. soo yeah that's the
plan kind of. i don't really know what im talking about. except that
yesterday was really fun but sad. and im going to stop writing because
i forgot what i was going to say AND i have to go get ready.
umm yeah EDIT i forgot another cool thing which is basically just for peter's benefit even though i believe he is still out of town. right after cam kerry left gen. wesley clark and patty murray showed up so i was like umm 2 or 3 ft from wesley clark which was cool i guess (even though i don't really like him) actually we were all disappointed because they made like everyone come up to meet him and we waited for like a half and hour and then he came in and talked for like 2 minutes and left w/o even shaking anyone's hand or anything. but yes. kind of disappointing.
