“... yeah, peta is a bunch of loony idiots. i did alot of research on them soon after they launched those websites a few years back that hosted the slaughterhouse videos. i found that almost all of those films originated as video evidence used to shut down inhumane abbatoirs by state governments. and even if the methods used by regulation slaughterhouses are only moderately better, who fucking cares? it's only an issue if you can't come to terms with where your dinner comes from. i can accept that my veal is a size-10 dead baby cow in a size-6 cage with a pneumatic piston in its skull as easily as i can accept that it's freaking delicious with some white wine and garlic bread...

... it's all pretty moot, though; peta is largely seen today as a radical fringe organization... their street cred was shot the moment they started ignoring the actual animals in favor of just mindlessly harrassing people. their methods are psychotic and frankly just pretty damn weird. Some of their members are worse than any religious fanatic or ultra right-wing freak. at least creationists proposed a theory to back their crackpot views. At least the right-wingers have years of moralistic oppression to excuse their behavior. peta just ignores the basic scientific fact that we as a species developed to eat a primarily carnivorous diet...

...no matter what the pamphlet says, you're not healthy if you're just eating sprouts, pringles, and tofu, folks. Personally, i've known many a staunch vegan, and i have to say that after about a year of living like that their skin looks like wax paper. but hey, it's a small price to pay to see all the animals they didn't eat die anyways, right?

...personally, i feel what’s really wrong is to trivialize the deaths of these animals by reducing it to a meaningless act of cruelty. it’s a deeply personal thing to consume another living being. but when you look at it as vicious and wrong, all you do is misplace your insecurities and overlook the nobility of the animal’s sacrifice. you distance yourself from the true profundity of their death and indirectly state that rather than being in touch with nature and coexisting with it, you’re somehow above and beyond it... i think it's the greatest honor you can give them, to grant them new life through being consumed and integrated into your body. it’s the most natural thing in the world. it’s just how things work on this planet, how things have always worked, and how they always will. i think peta should show some true devotion to mother nature and just fucking eat up...”
