"Ego" is my first (out of three) film projects for my Cinema Production One course.
It was my first film shot on actual film. The camera used is the Bolex, shot on black and white film.
After I filmed this (and before the final cut was due), I thought about including a narration. While on vacation, I set up a recording session with Cam Jones's equipment and Laura Cowie as the narrator. However, I wasn't able to think of a speech I thought would work, and I cancelled the recording session, deciding that the film worked just as well without narration.
This film is, of course, open to interpretation. I view it in my own specific way, but you, the viewer, might view it differently. The film's mood and meaning was the subject of some debate during our class.
Ruth and Sarah were, of course, wonderful actresses (and they are identical twins). Brittany, Emily, and K. M. were great crew that helped me stay on top of things. I reused Krystal Wakem's great score for my previous film, "Monument", to fit with the film's tone. Thanks to all else who helped!
