My lighter came back to me from Zippo, after sending it off for repair. This typed note was wrapped around it:
"Dear Zippo Customer:
Thank you for entrusting us with the repair of your Zippo lighter. Upon examination, we find that the inside lighting mechanism is not of our manufacture and cannot be repaired by us. It is a good idea to purchase your genuine Zippo products from a reputable distributor. As a courtesy, we have replaced the inside mechanism with a genuine Zippo inside lighting mechanism, at no charge.
For the optimal performance of your lighter, we recommend the use of Zippo lighter fluid, flints and wicks.
Thank you for your interest in Zippo products and we trust your lighter will give you many years of service.
