Saint Seiya AMV!
OMG, omg, I finished it! I'm so happy that it's finally done.
Over a year ago a friend found a song, Zeichen des Zodiac by E Nomine, that she thought couldn't be more perfect for the Saint Seiya: Hades anime. What with the title and enumerating the signs of zodiac in the lyrics and the dark eminence and fight for survival thing. I promised I would do an AMV for her.
But. AMVs that I'm a fan of are such hight quality affairs from technical pov that I had to learn almost from scratch how to rip dvds, how to prepare and clear footage, GET RID OF THE FRIGGIN' INTERLACING (holy shit, that was a road through hell), so it would all look pretty and smooth and fit nicely into my video editing program. When I started editing, though, my computer started crashing like crazy because it was old and lacked sufficient processing power. It took a lot of acrobatics and compressing, decompressing and recompressing before I could start editing and even then the computer refused to cooperate twice and I had to start from the beginning.
I even bought a new computer. For future projects because transferring the Saint Seiya project would have required too much work and it was almost finished.
My friend Haru has given me some feedback and direction during final stages. She says she's happy with it, I'm rather pleased with myself because hooray, I fished my first AMV! If only I knew how to promote it to get plenty of nice comments. Animemusicvideos.org, although my favourite source of quality AMVs, is a bit like fanfiction.net: there's bazzilion videos there but most are either bad or worse (and I'm convinced that mine is neither bad nor worse) and I don't know how to turn people's attention to this thing of mine. Oh well. At least Haru's happy.
The Signs of Zodiac:Mediafire, 35 MB, high quality, mp4, encoded with h.264 and aac - requires modern codecs but if you watch anime in mkv containters, you probably have them.
The Signs of Zodiac: Mediafire, 75 MB, high quality although audio is of a bit lower quality than in the mp4 version, avi, encoded with xvid and mp3 - should play without trouble on all computers.
