Yuletide! Whoo!

Dec 25, 2013 19:27

How's everyone's Yuletide going? There's so much amazeballs stories in there I can hardly decide where to start.

I received 3 stories (three! How awesome is that?), and they are all made of sunshine and puppies. Well, technically one is about skeevy government agencies and asassins, so maybe not exactly sunshine and puppies, but still AWESOME.

throw it on the fire (you won't need it any more) (4030 words)
Fandom: Colombiana (2011), Unspecified Crossover Fandom
Characters: Cataleya (Colombiana)
Additional Tags: Assassins & Hitmen, Not-So-Stealth Crossover, Murder, Post-Canon, Canon Female Character of Color, Vague Yet Menacing Government Agency, Dark
Summary:
The job is the same as it used to be. It's just that the consequences for failure are different now.

Cataleya in the aftermath of the movie. Painful, but in all the best ways. Although the sunshine and puppies element is also present, in the shape of an awesome Gabi to Cataleya's Xena.

Pour Some Sugar On Me, Be My Cherry Pie and Remember the A-La-Mode (3815 words)
Fandom: Acer "Dynamite Cupcakes" Commercial, Ghost Soup Infidel Blue
Relationships: Kiefer & Greg (Dynamite Cupcakes)
Characters: Kiefer Sutherland, Greg (Dynamite Cupcakes)

[The canon in question is here.]

Remember a bit ago, when I was pimping out the commercial that was essentially a Bakery AU of 24? I got a fic for it! And it's also full of stealthy crossovers, each part of the story drawing from a different canon--I especially recommend the Night Vale and Leverage sections, they are brilliant. It's pure undiluted crack, but it reads like the awesomest rollercoaster ride.

(Sidenote, since tiny fandoms need to stick together: there's a second story in Dynamite Cupcakes. No one is as flabbergasted as me that all that pimping has worked out so well. The stroy is Tiny Explosions and it's about the sort of people who are into baking that has to be done in welding aprons and behind blast doors.)

Investigation (100 words) by
Fandom: IKEA "Gnome Invasion" Commercial, TV Commercials
Summary:
It was three days before the neighbors reported the disappearance.

And to top it all off, I got a drabble from the Yuletide Madness Collection! Featuring shady flamingos and outsiders completely unaware of the dangers of undomesticated garden gnomes.

Now it's your turn! Rec me your gifts, or other shiny stories you've found so far! And then we can squee about them together. :)
