Off to Arisia!
Yes, I'm going! I'm not sure where I'll be when -- there's always a glut of things to do at Arisia, and I usually don't know where I'm going to be until I show up there. One thing I really want to do is try the Mei Mei's food truck on Saturday afternoon, so you can probaably find me at the food trucks at that time.
I'd like to ask for help on one thing: At large social events, it's often hard for me to find anyone to talk to. I can't nonvisually identify who's in the room, and it just becomes a formless mass of voices. So I'd really appreciate if people who know me would come up and talk to me, since I can't make eye contact with you. (Remember: sighted people use eye contact, but blind people need to use hi contact. That's not a common saying: I made it up.)
Also, if you see me wandering around, seeming aimlessly, I'm probably looking for a conversation to join. If I need or want to find something specific, I'll find someone and ask where that thing is. But I often look lost when trying to mingle, for the reasons stated above. So if you see me aimlessly wandering, the best way to help is to come up to me and start a conversation! (I hope that doesn't sound entitled; it's not as if I think anyone has to talk to me or anything like that!)
