Coffee grinder woes

Once upon a time there was a sweet little coffee grinder. It wasn't *that* little, actually: it could grind pretty many beans at a time. Its owners, thorbol and moria923, loved it very much, because it could easily grind enough for their 12-cup coffeemaker. You see, thorbol and moria923 are coffee addicts. They each drink about 32 ounces per day, and they like it strong. The sweet little coffee grinder was very easy to use. All its owners had to do was put the beans in, press down on the top, and keep pusing down for as long as they wanted it to grind. It never tried to do the thinking for them.

Then, after eight years of service, the sweet little grinder broke. Its owners went to amazon.com and looked for a replacement. But alas, its type was no longer being made. All the new coffee grinders seem to have electronic settings. You're supposed to select the number of cups of coffee you want, and the coarseness or fineness of the grind. Then you push a button, and the machine will grind the beans for as long as *it* thinks is required for those settings. The owners tried a couple of these new-fangled grinders, and none of the setting combinations produced the kind of coffee they love to drink. In fact, this morning thorbol actually added some instant coffee to his cup to supplement the flavor. Really.

Does anyone know where we can find the kind of grinder that we want, one that a) is large enough to grind beans for 12 cups of coffee at a time, and b) allows you to determine manually how long you want it to grind? We're getting desperate! We don't want to have to crawl through hundreds of listings on eBay, but we may have to. These new-fangled gizmos are just not working for us.
