Looking up..
So things are finally lookin up a bit here....
I like my job, I am busy and I'm learning a lot. I also talked to one of the guys who is the audio dude, and he said he'll call me in for Voice Overs and stuff when they need them, and that I should talk to the casting guy and see if I can get in on an audition or something, that way maybe the agency will be able to use my voice and I can get a tape and get back into radio. That would be sweet. If I get a tape I can send it to local stations and pick up graveyard shifts and weekend stuff and hopefully work my way up from there. That would be awesome to be back on air. But anyway I'm getting ahead of myself.
Rachel's back from Europe, so I'm not quite so lonely. And my new job keeps me busy at nights, and practising guitar (or procrastinating practising) is keeping me a little more busy. I also am starting a book club out here, I have 3 definate yesses to meeting in 2 weeks, and a few others who expressed interest, but haven't said they are definately yes coming to our first meeting.
Plus I'm getting a bit of a tan going on.
And searching for roommates has been a major project, I'm happy to do it it keeps me occupied, but I'll be glad when it's all settled.
I can't wait till August. My bday is on a saturday, the 1st of the month, so I'm gonna make rachel and my new roommate go to the beer garden with me, and invite people from work and stuff. Hopefully I'll get more than my roommates showing up, but who knows. So if you see this and wanna go to the beer garden in astoria to wish me a happy bday, it's Aug 6th and we'll be there around 6.
I am getting a computer in August too! Yay! IT's an extra pay day month. We get payed every other wednesday, and in august there are 5 wednesdays, and so there are 3 that are actual pay days! Yayaayayay!!! So I'll use half of the money I have after expenses to pay off my some of discover bill and half for a down payment on the comp. I'm gettin an iBook-whoo hooooo!
I'm also excited cuz August is when SVA will post what cont. ed classes they have for the fall, so I can see if there's a filmmaking/video documentary/some kinda course I can make a short movie with. I'm excited, I have an idea for a short documentary, but I don't know how it'll pan out....
