I'm wearing real pants today!
I know you all needed to know that. But after the transplant, due both to the sensitivity of the incision and drastically increased size (thanks, extra fluid), I wore oversized sweatpants to avoid putting pressure on my incision. Now that I am back down to a more normal size (less than I weighed when I went in the hospital, even) and the healing of the incision I can once again dress like a normal civilized person. I never did consider sweatpants to be something one wore outside one's home unless actually exercising, but figured since I'd just had surgery I'd get a pass on it. Now I can wear my work pants comfortably, and after dropping a few more pounds I might even be able to wear my jeans comfortably again.
I can walk more or less normally for a certain period of time now, though standing for very long gets uncomfortable. I can't wait to start getting some of these staples out.
I haven't done an exchange in two weeks. I'm still getting used to that idea.
