So back during my Harry Potter days I came across a pattern for knitting
house scarves. I printed out a copy on 1/20/04 (back when the poster was known as makesmewannadie), bought the yarn and this awful cheap-ass circular needle online, got a copy of Stitch And Bitch, and tried it out. I think I got two rounds in before giving up on the whole thing, partially because I was freaked out by how teeny the yarn was (sport weight, and now that I look harder at my Ravelry I realize I have it entered as worsted) and because the circular needle completely sucked.
The supplies made it through a move, and when I actually finally started knitting for real two and a half years ago, made it into my knitting bin. And for whatever reason I've decided it's time to finally knit myself a
Ravenclaw scarf. It got off to a very rocky start with a crappy join, and then when I moved it onto the circular needle for magic loop I got it inside out and could NOT figure out how to fix that. So I purled rather than knit for a few rounds until I said "fuck it" and put it on DPNs, and now it's going much better, though you can see the wonky rows that were knit inside out. Oh well, that's on the end where the tassels will go.
I'm a little nervous, though, by the millions of finished projects on Ravelry that all essentially say JESUS GOD THIS TOOK FOREVER. I guess if I get bored I can start on my purple slippers or something and come back to it.
