Happy Birthday to me.....
......I'm getting cuddled and "massaged" by my ever-more-affectionate tortie even now. (It is very hard to type around a purring, kneading cat, you know?)
Had a nice steak dinner with a couple non-LJ friends, and spent some pleasant time close to home. Wasn't really up for much celebrating (still not 100% from the other day) but all in all a nice, cozy laid-back day. (Maybe the wine helped, dunno) ;)
Got a "happy birthday" phone call from (of all people) my ex-husband. Not that getting a call from him is surprising.... we've had a civil-to-cordial relationship since we split those thirteen years ago.... what *was* surprising was that he called from a party he was attending and took the time to:
a) remember my birthday
b) pull himself out of a party situation to do so
He was always much more a "party animal" than I was and seemed to function best with a group around him....so that makes the gesture rather special. I appreciated it and told him so.
Hmmm.... funny how we change as we age, isn't it? :)
