Yeah, the whole Derek and Rose thing. I've had a similar sense of it to you in that he really didn't understand what Meredith was going through. Both before they broke-up, when she was just so incredibly broken and self-destructive, and after with how much the ending of their relationship hurt her. She's excellent at hiding her feelings from him, so I guess I can't really blame him, but at the same time a part of me still wants to smack him a little because all she needed from him was a little understanding. And I think he would've been able to give it to her if he realized how completely screwed up she was. I think, to him, a lot of it came off as indifference on her part, when in reality it was the complete opposite.

Also...his comments to her after Jeremy died. Ugh. Freaking inexcusable on his part. That made me furious. Mer shouldn't have to take it just because getting all shouty when he's upset happens to be Der's thing. He was incredibly cruel to her in that moment.

And yay, I'm so glad you aren't minding that they're still in angst-land! Because they very much are, and they're going to be stuck there for awhile still, but they're stuck there together!!
