"... my whole life just flashed before my eyes..."

Well, frigin hell - it's been so long since I've updated that I actually forgot how easy it was to do this... I've been counting down the days until I leave here, and then basically my whole life is going to happen in 4 months, and then I'm off in another part of the country - starting my new life. I feel as though my life has completely changed since - oh - lets say my engagement in July. I feel I need to update on the current status of my upcoming life.

My thesis first draft is finally finished. 101 pages are completely done, and after the revisions, the lists of tables and appendix lists - it should be about 200 pages. Frigin too long. I feel it was easy as hell to write - more of a pain in the ass than educational... Presentations are on April 1st, which is sort of fitting for the event - which will be the last thing for this very long thesis. April 1st will conclude with a very large party...

Exams and garbage will soon be over - and then I finally get to go home for a bit. Mom and I are planning fun things, which includes buying a marriage license, ordering flowers, deciding on food and decorations for the wedding. Craig and I are pretty much up to speed with wedding plans - it takes a lot of planning even for such a small event. Guest list of about 30 people makes life a lot easier though - and is quite fitting for both of us.

Convocation in May. My parents want to come and stay with Craig and I (who will be flying in for my 'big'-day). My Mom seems to be excited about going to the pub and drinking with us, which should be really awesome. I will pack up my life into boxes, attend a conference that I have been helping organized for the past year, and then I will fly to London, Ontario to live with my fiance.

May 26th I will be starting my 'research assistant' job at Western, under the supervision of my Ph. D supervisor, Dr. Konermann. He seems like a very cool guy when I met him over spring break. I got to go spend a week with Craig, see the university and the department, and get travel completely paid for. Konermann has already published about 10 papers in 2006, and published over 30 in 2005. I am so excited. The 28th of May I fly to Seattle to attend a huge 10 000 person conference with my new research group. I won't know very much about Time of Flight Mass Spectrometry to study the protein folding phenomena at that point, but Lars feels it's a good chance for me to meet people and learn lots.

My friend Meghan is getting married in July - so there will be a trip home for that, but I will be working in London with Lars until the first week in August. I am mostly just excited about finally getting to living with Craig again. I will be moving into his place and then moving into our beautiful apartment in July.

Then, fly home again after work is over and get everything ready for Wedding. August 19th. Get married. Go to PEI for 'honeymoon' and finally get to relax for a bit with my new husband. Fly back to London. Start my Ph. D. I decided to do the direct entry that Western offered me. The money is not really the deciding factor because it's not really that much different. The difference of a couple thousand dollars isn't worth it over the course of a lifetime. Craig and I will be done our Ph. D's at the same time this way (if we keep our fingers crossed) and then we can travel together for our post docs...

So, planning for the next couple of months has really been the biggest thing going on in my life... I felt that I needed to update you all in what's been going on - seeing I read all about your lives and never update about my own...

So, how the hell is everybody else doing?
