I made;
Apple pie recipe, added a half shot of Southern comfort but cut too many apples and needed to wet 'em down some so added a few splashes of 'Angry Orchard - Apple Ginger' hard cider..Alc. cooked off of course. The turkey was brined with Whole Foods Market brining kit and I checked it to see if adding a bottle of cider would work, it did, bird got dunked while I made cornbread stuffing. Bacon, sage ...sausage, giblets..(could only taste the giblets if yo bit into them, bacon masked them.) 11 pound bird in a COVERED enamel pan, broth, brine..took a little over 2 hours due to the oven used and the steam. :) Pie was awesome, oven set too high but following directions and it kinda burnt the crust..tasted awesome otherwise. Same with the bird..
But, all this took too long when I had to get sleep before continuing so I was late seeing everyone AND getting over to be able to share since everyone was stuffed already. Ham was good, I didn't get to my own bird until after though..
