Well there's that then.
Feeling slightly shellshocked, unsurprisingly, I think when it's settled a bit I'm going to be even more impressed with how bloody brilliant that was and also REALLY pissed off at...

I think that is maybe what some of the pre-Torchwood press was hinting at. A dark show, deaths and consequences and dodgy morals and earth muddling through and getting it wrong but surviving and mess and heartache. Only. Only we got two series of a mix of crack and humour and heartache and we got a world where you could hide your cyber-girlfriend from everyone, nearly get everyone killed, swear eternal vengeance and two episodes later be playing stopwatch games.
So it's unsurprising people are feeling betrayed and shocked. This is not the Torchwood we knew.
As a piece of television though? Bloody fantastic.
Gut wrenchingly painful at times (god I almost couldn't watch the Frobisher stuff, from when the Primeminister called him in (and by the way THAT'S what happens when you employ incredible actors) right to the end when I knew it was coming and still flinched it was just... I don't know if he was good or not but what choice did he have and I still feel slightly sick).
Can't help feeling if it was easy as that in the end Torchwood could have solved it if they weren't busy running for their lives. Though then again in any situation other than that one nobody would have let Jack do that whereas the people he was left with encouraged it.
Right thing to do but that Jack was able to do it? Well he has lived an awful lot of lives.
Completely fascinating character, reminded me of when we first knew him except with more angst because he's kind of a coward for running away except with all those years what else can he do? And it's not like the Doctor doesn't run.
Oh and Gwen I'm sorry I ever doubted you, her and Rhys ♥ oh and ANDY! (except why take off your stab jacket you eejit)
... I hope Alice pulls herself together and doessomething though I don't know what. Tracks down Gwen maybe. Gwen and Lois and anyone else she might pick for a new Torchwood if she can bear it (Rhys being a house husband obv.)
But yes. Traumatic and great and upsettiing and still a little bit Torchwood fail (they hacked them ages ago...) but not really at all what I was expecting.
