(no subject)
So a few people on my flist have been doing this meme that is name 15 OTPs and then see what they say about you, and ask people to comment on what they say about you.
Having spent three days dithering over what I mean by OTP and can I actually think of 15 (and then changing mind on the definition and wondering how on earth I can pick only 15 :P) I came to the conclusion that I would list only canonical pairings that are also my OTPs.
Which leads to a somewaht odd definition of OTP because one or two of these pairings I'd never read fic for and HAPPILY read fic for them with other people only in terms of the show/film/book they are OTPs.
Plus the two HP pairs are somewhat representative because actually I pretty much do ship all the canon pairs in HP which sometimes seems a little unusual. (Oh except Remus/Tonks which I'm still completely bemused by and when I say canon ships I mean the ones actually in the books not that JKR made up afterwards and Draco Malfoy totally married Pansy Parkinson *nods* or she died... if she's alive they got married)
*takes a deep breath*
Anyway. My 15, in canon, OTPs:
Kevin/Scotty (Brothers & Sisters)
Danny/Lindsay (CSI NY)
Mark/Elizabeth (ER)
Grissom/Lady Heather (CSI) (they are too canon :P)
Wendy/Hodges (CSI)
Chuck/Blair (Gossip Girl)
CJ/Danny (West Wing)
Josh/Donna (West Wing)
Chris/Jal (Skins)
Stuart/Vince (QaF)
Charles/Sebastian (Brideshead Revisited)
Harry/Ginny (HP)(I know, but I do ship them canonically)
Bill/Fleur (HP)
Jo/Jack (Chalet School)
Tara/Willow (Buffy)
I can ship het you see! One lesbian couple and three gay couples... which isn't bad considering we're going for canon I'd say as there are fewer choices! There were others I dithered about quite a lot (Eric/Jonathan from Gossip Girl, Monica/Chandler from friends, Carol/Doug and Abby/Luka(/Carter) from ER...) (and do House/Wilson count as canon do you think? I nearly included them :-S)
Oh and it feels VERY odd writing a list of OTPs that doesn't include things like Nick/Greg, Tony/Sid, Dorcas/Laura, Lily/Narcissa and Josh/Sam that are actual OTPs but that's my own fault for changing the rules *g* (and don't even get me started on RPS, I felt staying away from that was probably for the best *g*)
