So Andrew Davies starting to return to type a little this week.

Did we all notice the nicely subtle wet shirt moment *rolls eyes*

(not of course that it was entirely unwelcome, he's certainly a pretty Edward Ferrars *g* but really what is it with Edward and Elinor being desperate to do their servants' work?)

I thought Willoughby and Marianne were quite wonderful in their courtship, Marianne completely knew he was stepping over all sorts of boundaries but he seemed to almost care soemtimes that he shouldn't compromise her and there were lots of lingering looks. Of course that didn't stop me shouting "silly girl!" and "horrid boy!" at varying intervals throughout the programme.

I LOVED the Misses Steel. They were country cousins and they had an accent and were clearly well dressed but not entirely well-bred and Ann was glorious and Lucy was ridiculous and (whilst we're on minor characters) Mr and Mrs Palmer were quite great too "the ceilings are crooked" indeed *giggles* I always quite liked Mr Palmer.

Oh and Meg was wonderful and popped up everywhere and Mrs Dashwood felt too much but did see the impropriety and Elinor was great and beautiful and those big big eyes conveyed so much.

Quite interested by the whole sea motif, slightly overplayed I think but quite clever.

One question however for next week. WAS there a sword fight in the book?

VERY excited about Lark Rise to Candleford. Even more so every time they show the advert!
