Be Sure To Wear Some Flowers In Your Hair (by CJ Marlowe) is AU and feel good and beautifully different to the end of the film.
At Dawn (by Meltha) is more canonical and more painful with it and tense but also hopeful. Sort of.
I think I prefer At Dawn but then there are few who that would surprise.
(incidentally I plan on possibly giving my proper yuletide recs when I actually finish which could be sometime around May *g* but you'll probably get odd gems as I find them)
