You know fandom has ruined me.
I'm sitting in Sadler's Wells watching the Glydebourne Opera Company doing L'Elisir d'Amore, and more specfically listening to the incredible Peter Auty singing the unforgettable aria Una furtiva lagrima with a heartbreaking tone and simplicity (and oh I don't know about opera but sometimes it's just that good that you can't help but tell, and it's achingly beautiful.
What am I thinking?
He's singing about a single emo tear!
*pokes self*
It was a fantastic evening though. Not that anything at Sadler's Wells was likely to be otherwise but it's a great opera, one of the really fun ones with a plot that's silly but not out of this world, and GREAT tunes. The cast were all fantastic, not a weak or even a weaker voice amongst them and, as Mum described it, all the business on stage (there were magic tricks and falling over and drunkness and dancing of great glee) was just grea so that wherever you looked there was somthing happening.
*sighs happily*
