So in the 5 minutes before House starts.

I went to the Henley Regatta today, as a guest in the Stewards Enclosure no less! *g*

Having panicked massiviely about what to wear I ended up in sensible shoes, a black skirt (below the knee! with an asyemmetric hemline) and black three quarter sleeved top and a red tie top. I'd bought myself a red hair piece (not quite a fascinator but close) and my birthday present from 2mickat24" (a beeeeautiful necklace) arrived just in time so that I could wear it too.

It lookd good and was about right up until 4:30 when the wisps of grey cloud turned into solid grey mist and the wind went mad and we were stuck at the wrong end of the course and I FROZE till we eventually struggled back to the enclosure and tea.

That was the only bad bitof the day though. It was just (just!) Heats and to be honest we didn't watch a lot but there were one or two very close run races which were exciting to see. Half the fun was trying to identify various rowing clubs from the blazers that were around. Some of the older gentlemen had the msot fantastic stripey ones on.

Otherwise the day was spent watching, and being watched, and eating copious quantities of salmon and suchlike.

A heavenly day off in other words.

I just spent the last hour rushing round like a mad thing getting ready for tomorrow (and showering and feeding the cat and finding information for my parents in France) and now it is House and a glass of wine time.
