Assorted thoughts and discoveries:
1) I only have 10 Chalet School books missing (!) I thought I was much further from a complete set than that! Admittedly they're a mix of paperbacks and GGB versions but I'm aiming at some version of all before I try tidying them up at all :D I've also only got Gillian, Patricia and India missing of the fill-ins. Oh and Chalet Girls Grow Up *g*
2) I discovered why my LJ notifications had vanished. Somehow they, and half my yahoogroups and two individuals, had ended up on my blocked addresses.... exactly how Yahell only knows but now they're back *cuddles comments*
3) Much to my surprise (unworthy thought!)
Bradley Wiggins has won the Dauphine Libere prologue!. Looking good for the Tour then, though it's worth noting David Millar and a bunch of others started off with adverse weather conditions.
4)
Doctor Who- Blink
How fantastic was that?!
I watched it with my Dad and it felt so old skool it was unreal and then he kept saying he hadn't realised how good and funny and well written New Who was and I had to say that really it wasn't all this shiny but oh this episode was perfect. Well there wasn't much Doctor but what there was just summed his essence up and I loved it!
It didn't hurt that I think Carey Mulligan is both gorgeous and incredibly talented so that I clicked with Sally Sparrow as a character immediately. Also the scariness of those angels, very much like the scarecrows last week only better, went straight to childhood nightmares. The way they killed was brilliant and cruel but also kind in that the victims still had a full life.
Martha love was very much to the fore with her arrows and her snark and her working in a shop for the Doctor (which I so read as commentary on Rose :P) Actually it's quite interesting that for however long they were stuck there Martha presumeably got the ordinary life with the Doctor that Rose so craved...
Mostly I am never going near statues ever again. or possibly I need to always be near them. Bloody Moffat and his nightmare inducing BRILLIANT episodes ♥
5. Filler point in case people don't want spoilers...
...
Um... I know, I have this icon *points up* as a postcard now and I lvoe it and keep it on my desk and it's just so much more beautiful big. I also have another copy to send to someone when I'm feeling particularly generous ;-)
6.
CSI NY: A Daze Of Wine And Roaches
Where to even start?
With Danny and Flack bakc together making jokes and Flack being all judgey and giving him marks like in gymnastics ♥ and Flack knwoing lots about wine, and Montana knowing lots about wine, and Danny not knowing anything but just smiling all the time because Montana was there and nothing was awkward or weird and it made me so very happy.
Also Adam looked tired and beautiful this episode and was trying to be helpful to Danny and couldn't quite manage it because my poor baby looked like he hadn't slept in weeks *cuddles him* but then Danny got all smiley and Adam couldn't help but follow ♥
The other story had fun one-liners and Stella was being quite fabulous (though she was very quick to judge the teenage girl actually, I know she turned out evil but still, it felt a little off)
Mac + politics presumeably is the end of series extravaganza making it's presence felt. Actually I'm a bit sick of that storyline from Miami and Vegas and New York has been pleasantly free of it so far so I'm not best pleased to see them rely on it once again but it has only just started so we'll see.
7. Nope. No more points. I'm sure I had some when I started...
8. Oh. Wait! I'm Sorry I Haven't A Clue tomorrow evening is the 2nd one I saw recorded and includes a compeltely fab Mornington Crescent game with a special computer (with a crush on Mr Fry)
9. Also Would I Lie To You starts next week, Angus is back! ♥
10. Now I'm really done. Probably. :P
