My arm hurts SO MUCH. Apparently using a handsaw is hard? And involves effort? And SO MUCH pain after the fact?

I was feeling pathetic but then chatted to a guy at church this morning who does a bunch of DIY & he was actually really surprised I managed to saw apart all the bits for a birdhouse so now I feel less useless? I am ridiculously proud of having made a whole birdhouse even if there was a lot of help *g*

(I went to a special day for Guiding Leaders yesterday- I made a bird house, learned how to reseat a tap, made chocolate praline truffles and then had a go at geocaching!)

Apparently even when I have a weekend filled with things I love relaxing is something I'm REALLY bad at.

Holy Week here I come? Compline Monday-Wednesday evening, Maundy Thursday Eucharist, Good Friday Vigil (& then Unity at the Cross multidenominational service), Holy Saturday vigil and then Easter Sunday (live on BBC if you want to try and spot me, Sunday 10am) and THEN Easter Monday pilgrimage followed by Songs of Praise filming... I can't overstate how afraid I am that this week may kill me. Whilst also being really excited.

I'm currently reading the travel writing of Egeria who was a Spanish Nun who visited Jerusalem in the 4th century AD and described the liturgy (prayers, readings, services etc.) throughout the year and it's such a perfect book for this time of year because although a lot has changed a lot has stayed the same and it's making me feel so connected to a 1600 years of history. How many people have said these words, prayed the same prayers, felt the same (complicated) feelings? Plus it's pretty amazing reading a woman telling me the history of Jerusalem when Cyril was bishop and St Jerome was alive AND she talks about Deaconesses because it turns out women always held leadership roles in the church WHO KNEW?

(I'm so sorry I've forgotten how to write about theatre but if you're in/near London at the moment Cosi the playe and Cosi fan Tutte at the Kings Head Theatre? WELL worth a visit. And they pay their creatives a London living wage so you can feel good whilst you enjoy yourself.)
