(no subject)
Every time I think about posting the LJ at the moment I realise I could be watching the Commonwealth Games instead and so I don't (sorry).

Anyway now I've distracted myself FROM watching the games with an internal rant about why on earth female gymnasts have to wear leotards with sparkly bits on them which I realise is a stupid thing to obsess over when faced with these incredible sportswomen but it makes me SO CROSS that we don't get to see Max Whitlock all blinged up too
(I wrote that and then got sucked back in to watch Claudia vault for gold <3)
What else has been happening though? Well there's been a little group of trailers out this week- Mockingjay was good especially as I'd forgotten Natalie Dormer's going to be in this one <3, The Maze Runner definitely looked good and I'm so excited to see it (even if IDK how I feel about the rest of the series after book one) and then The Hobbit was an emotionally manipulative nightmare that I had to eventually watch with the sound off to stop the incredible ache of hearing Billy Boyd's voice sing that song (I'm super excited for the film though obviously!)
It's been a quiet week otherwise though it's not going to stay that way- Porgy & Bess tonight, Forbidden Broadway tomorrow, a friend's wedding on Saturday and then Holy Warriors on Sunday \o/
Meanwhile work is being hot & frustrating & not so brilliant but then I've only got 4 more days and then nearly a whole fortnight off so I can definitely cope with that!
What else? Oh! I've totally voted in the Hugos & Retro Hugos now and this is your absolutely last chance to vote LonCon attendees so if you're going to then do it now! My mind is possibly forever warped by reading large swathes of 1930s scific now but I'm glad I did it. I think.
