As I type this there is a real rainstorm going on outside- proper torrential rain that looks like stair rods- and that's appropriate because it started raining about 5 minutes into Part 3, went through a proper thunderstorm, stopped briefly at the start of Act Two and then rained increasingly heavily until the end of the play ( Read more... )

He was less controlled? Only when in private of course but in his soliloquies I felt he was saying a lot of things despite himself if that makes sense- he hated himself a lot more than I've seen in Richards too BUT it is worth bearing in mind I've only seen Richard III twice and of course I've never seen Henry VI part 3 before and I could imagine this Richard becoming hardened and more at ease with his own wickedness (if that makes sense) but he'd still be utterly unlike Kevin Spacey or Mark Rylance I think.
