I have been so incredibly useless this weekend. I've done none of the things on my to-do list but instead fallen into a series of YouTube spirals (LBD rewatch followed by a Vlogbrothers rewatch followed by a little tour around random YouTubers which has led to a whole bunch of subscriptions (I gave in and subscribed to CharlieIsSoCoolLike and DanIsNotOnFire and my brain being full of facts I don't entirely understand thanks to MinutePhysics and VSauce etc...)

On the otherhand I've been feeling so run down and ineffective recently that maybe a weekend of total rest was a good idea? I guess we'll find out tomorrow when I have to go back to work and it's going to be a rather busy couple of weeks.

Oh! And I just read a rather wonderful Hank Green quote (talking about LBD in this article)
“There’s always a fear that [the behind-the-scenes content] will kill the magic - but that’s like saying a rainbow is less beautiful because you understand refraction.”

I mean obviously behind the scenes does, sometimes, have the power to hurt us when it turns out the creators/actors/writers aren't as awesome as we imagine them to be but at least as often, if not more often, they turn out to be wonderful and can lead us to all kinds of other fantastic things as we follow a creator through all their projects (aaaaaaaand we're back to YouTube spirals *g*)

Anyway it's Downton time soon and... yeah I haven't actually watched last week's episode yet SORRY I will be horrendously spoiled and probably end up watching today's episode in about 3 weeks time (which will at least be more timely than the Christmas episode which, well, I sort of never saw *fails at fannishness*)

the lizzie bennet diaries, youtube, science, pride&prejudice, downton abbey
