Today was meant to be a day all for myself in London... didn't quite happen :-/

Partly that was because I realised Half Term was not the perfect time to go swanning around exhibitions & London streets and partly because I looked at my to-do list and sort of panicked a bit *sighs* still I have been quite productive and in about 20 minutes I'm off into London for the evening anyway to see The Veil at the National Theatre

It's the NT's 35th birthday today apparently... feels very strange that it's that young! It really is one of my absolute favourite places in the world between the fantastic plays I've seen there and the lovely restaurants and the interesting little exhibitions and the face that you can just sit and have a coffee and listen to, often quite brilliant, musicians in the foyer or wander around the shop or... well I've never felt uncomfortable in it. Never. Unless it was a deliberate thing caused by whichever play I was watching.

They asked on twitter for people's favourite play's at the National- mine with forever and always be Wind in the Willows because it was so magical when I saw it as a child and such a huge part of why I love the National and London and the South Bank and theatre... but picking a 2nd, 3rd & 4th place after that starts to become difficult because I've seen so many good things there.

Um... this post wasn't actually going to be a love letter to the National Theatre but there are worse things for it to be so maybe I'll leave it there and give myself time to get there not in a rush and maybe wander round the shop before supper & play *g*
