And so it begins... crashes all round for day one including Contador ending up over a minute back which could actually have an effect on the whole result of the race. Will be very interesting to see if it does. Stage went to Phillipe Gilbert so he technically has all three jerseys BUT a Brit (Geraint Thomas) has the white (young rider) jersey so that's something.
ps. any cycling fans around these parts should check out gruppetto if they haven't already. We'll be having daily discussion posts and everyone's very friendly (well so long as you don't mention Lance... or Contador... or Cav winning... or the Leopards... they're QUITE friendly then *g*) and if I'm online during a stage I'll probably be mostly there and on twitter a bit.
Speaking of online places to hang out I'm having a wobble over whether I want to try and get a Google+ account :-| I'm partly dubious because it's another real name thing but mostly with people I met online and it's unlikely to replace facebook (I can't imagine my aunts getting Google+) but it can't replace LJ because there's stuff I post here I wouldn't under my real name online where anyone could see it... IDK
PLUS it ends up being ANOTHER place to post which will confuse me even more because as it is I find myself wodnering LJ or facebook or twitter or tumblr or the CBB or gruppetto or sns or... well that's good for a start and it's a pain to keep up with everyone when they're scattered (I know I still suck at checking DW and a whole bunch of people I know are moving to other blogging platforms and I still find myself a bit uncertain as to who I'm commenting as on them... they're always able to connect to facebook or twitter or LJ or just be a new name and I just don't know and they're all public not locked and it makes me stupidly tense).
BUT I don't want to be left out if loads of people end up on Google+... tbh if I haven't left LJ yet I'm probably not going anywhere *shrugs*
