That picture would have amused me anyway but given the way cycling forums everywhere are currently imploding in a battle or "but it's tradition" versus "but it's a race" it amuses me even more.

TdF 2010- Stage 15 (Pamiers - Bagnères-de-Luchon)

Firstly? Thomas Voeckler FTW ♥

I don't think there is ANYTHING quite like watching a French National Champion take a stage of the Tour de France and TV Tommy (or TiVo as he now seems to be known) is a guy I like anyway so I am SO glad he stayed away in style <333

Secondly Ryder Hesjedal rode himself back into the Top Ten and I couldn't be happier! I was getting overexciteable that his teammate was up there with the GC guys and didn't even notice Ryder still was and <3333333333333

Thirdly... well yes it is generally accepted that you don't attack the Yellow Jersey when he has a mechanical fault so I can see why people are cross with Contador (but booing him on the podium, stay classy guys!) but I'm going to try not to say anything till I've seen what actually happened and a bit of me can't help feeling it's a race and well done Contador for actually attacking at all seeing as everyone seems to think he could just wait for the time trial.

IDK

I like the Tour traditions a LOT, I'm that sort of a fan, but I know they're ridiculous sometimes and I hope in the past that even whilst cursing certain people who break them at the expense of riders I love I have acknowledged that actually, if you want to win, sometimes you have to.

Maybe I'll change my mind when I see it.

Mostly I'm all ♥_♥ over TiVo and Ryder.
