Hello LJ,

I am in a quite spectacularly bad mood right now *sighs* It was Liège-Bastogne-Liège today, that's one of the biggest one day European cycling events (known as La Doyenne) and honestly I'm not sure I can think of a way the top three could have been more depressing. One known doper, one who... well okay two known dopers and one who is on a team that's enough to make me wonder (though I was shouting for Kolo at the end because OH GOD ANYONE BUT VINO OR VALVERDE damn it) and it's so depressing because I LOVED Vinokourov so much back when I started following cycling and he's such a *can't think of the words* He's unrepentant and in fact doesn't seem to be even slightly bothered by what people think of him, has never apologised for bringing the sport into disrepute and seems to think it's his right to swan straight back in and win things and he obviously can win, he just did, but I don't think I know any cycling fans who would be willing to bet on him being 100% clean... or even a little bit clean.

*sighs*

I try not to be too cynical because it just gets frustrating and because I do believe some riders have doped in the past and then stopped(eternal optimist) (some who were caught and others who weren't) but SODDING BASTARDY BLOODY TWAT

Can we just skip the top three? We'd have had Phil Gilbert, Cadel Evans and Andy Schleck on the podium and I'd have been... well I'd have been being sad Tony Martin crashed but I'd also have been thrilled for Phil and glad Cadel's on form and everything would be so much better.

*scowls*

It's a pity too because it's been/being a nice weekend really. Yesterday was the first Company of Servers Festival and I now have a shiny medal and badge and I sang in the choir for two services which was really nice and I've now actually been to an Evensong with Benediction so I have some clue what that means. Though I couldn't actually see anything from the choir stalls.

And then after that it was my brother's birthday meal at Quaglinos which was, of course, absolutely delicious <3

Anyway. I'm going to step away from the cycling stuff now because fandomers are being gleeful elsewhere, Jon Huertas said he was hanging out with Gen Kill guys and Chris Pine and Zachary Quinto are hanging out in New York (first at the park and then after a film called Monogamy... you couldn't make it up!) and Adam Lambert + band are in London

star trek, family, singing, cycling, adam lambert, serving, doping, generation kill
