I was also going to mention that despite not much Greek being read today, it was still a really fun class, though I have no idea how we got onto Bushisms. The other day when we were reading, I was confused in my translation because I had been translating Athena as Athens and thus could not figure out what the hell was going on. When I was translating yesterday, I sat myself down and said "okay, read the grammar, read what it says, don't make it say what you want." And then got really confused. Obviously Pisistratus is exiled and returns, but I couldn't figure out how.
And as soon as my classmate began translating it all unraveled. There was a line that went something like "The wife told her mother, and she told her husband. He was angry about this perceived slight and made peace with faction 3 to oust Pisistratus." When I translated, I had taken the 'He' in the second sentence to be Pisistratus, like, he was angry that his wife told her parents about their abnormal sex life, but obviously he can't oust himself from the tyranny. I just wanted to hit myself in the face.
But class was still fun.
