FREAKING AMAZING. Like, Lost is some seriously good television. This week’s episode was INCREDIBLE.
I have no clue how they managed to fit so much amazingness OMG wow-ness into ONE episode. And, the Oceanic Six wasn’t even in it at all, but so what? So amazing ANYWAY, and that is huge.
So, John Locke first, I suppose. Going back in time and seeing Richard Alpert. Have to admit I wasn’t too surprised that Richard looks the same…I mean, it’s to be expected right? But, I must say that I totally called it last week that the reason Richard thought John was special all those years was b/c John himself had told him to go back and find him. Fucking hot, is what that is. That’s incredible and amazing and OMG.
Also, Desmond’s story was incredible this ep. Widmore’s connection to the woman that Faraday apparently experimented on. Did not see that particular one coming. Their interaction wasn’t too weird, I suppose. Only now I am terrified for Penny, b/c she’s going to LOS ANGELES, and that is where Ben is. Ben, who wants to kill her.
And, Des is a DADDY. Not only that, but he NAMED HIS SON CHARLIE. HE. NAMED. HIS. SON. CHARLIE! Is that not the cutest and most adorable and sweetest and just basically amazing thing ever? That scene made me tear up.
AND ALLOW ME TO JUST FREAK OUT A LITTLE (ok I lied a LOT) BECAUSE HOLY. FUCKING. SHIT.
CHARLES WIDMORE WAS AN ORIGINAL “OTHER,” A “HOSTILE,” ONE OF THE ISLAND’S ORIGINAL FUCKING INHABITANTS.
But, HOW did Ben and Charles meet and WHY are they so pissed at each other? HOW and WHY did Charles get off the island and CAN he get back on it? If NOT, then what the FUCK is he trying to fucking do?!?!?
Here’s the thing I cannot understand. Faraday said in 501 that you can’t change the past, you cannot do anything to change what’s already happened. And yet, everything has changed. For one thing, LOTS of Oceanic survivors have died in the hostiles’ attack. If you die in the past, what happens to your future self, and how can anything then be even remotely the same? Makes no sense.
Also, more important and confusing implications. If Locke tells Richard to go find him when he’s born, how does that make any sort of logical sense at all? It’s fucking crazy and it makes my brain hurt.
Finally, THEORY as to the hydrogen bomb. That’s the mysterious “substance” that when released kills everyone on the island. Ben used it once. In season four, Dan rendered it inert. He even uses the same phrase when talking about the H-bomb in the past. He tells them to bury it. How did he know to do that?
Dan claims that Widmore told him about the gas, and to render it inert, and so that’s what he decided to do. So obviously this explains how Widmore would know about it. Finally, the dude w/ the radiation burns reminds me an awful lot of Goodwin, who also had radiation burns, presumably from working on the same gas that was inside that H-bomb. So, yeah. That’s pretty tight.
And, one last thought. OMG Dan and Charlotte. I really don’t ship it, I mean I don’t care enough about them. Dan is kind of a sweetie though but Charlotte is definitely a bitch. Anyway, the love revelation was meh, kinda outta nowhere. It takes Jack three seasons to admit his love for Kate, Sawyer almost that long, and yet Dan gets barely one cut-off season? Fuck that. Seemed like a plot device because it now seems like Charlotte is dying. That sucks, but again, I don’t care that much about her.
So, Lost. Is the best show ever.
