i want to grow my hair long again, braid it haphazardly and throw it over my shoulder. i want to roll it into a bun like when i did ballet and feel elegant, pretending i'm a princess, or perhaps a swan. i want to sit cross-legged, someone behind me combing it for what seems like hours, telling me stories while i listen to the wind whisper in my ears.
