Bed Times are for peace
Although Mike has yet to come home for the evening, it has been a good one.
The boys were great today. Ethan had a playmate this morning. After I picked Alex up from preschool we ran a few errands and then came home, had lunch and they had their quiet time while I had mine. Ethan napped and I got one in too.
Dinner was uneventful. We had Mac N cheese. Both of the boys ate well, since it is a great favorite. Then we got ready for bed. Brushed teeth, read a book for each child together on Alexander's bedroom floor. They both got their own pick of books. It amazes me that Ethan is so into that. He gets upset if we don't let him have his own book now too. And he is only 18 months!
Then I rocked Ethan while he had some milk... after brushing his teeth, I know that defeats the purpose but sometimes he doesn't want anything so I was banking on today being one of those nights and I didn't have the heart to deny him something to drink before bed. Then he went down easy.
Alex got a song before I kissed him one last time for the evening and cracked his door closed. This is usually how easy it is getting them to bed at night. Oh and we also read a children's version of scriptures too, so it is at their level and with pictures.
I'm really lucky that the boys are both so easy to go to bed. No crying or tears, no "go back to bed"s. Or getting up in the middle of the night. I love my buddies! They are great boys and I'm blessed to call them sons.
