Week of Sept 5, 2017: Call To Support Dreamers Act
I used "5 Calls" to leave messages for my Senators and Rep. If you cannot get through tomorrow, please try all week. If you cannot reach them, try faxing or tweeting.
This is the script I used
"My name is XXXX and I am a constituent.
We live in [CITY NAME] (Zip Code XXXXX). I am calling in support of the Deferred Action for Childhood Arrivals (DACA) program that grants protected status to undocumented immigrant children brought into the US by parents or other adults.
On July 20th, Lindsay Graham (R-SC) and Dick Durbin (D-IL) reintroduced the DREAM Act (S. 1615), a bipartisan bill which would grant legal status and a path to citizenship for DACA participants. In the House, Democrats have introduced a slightly more generous bill, the American Hope Act (H.R. 3591), which would also grant DACA recipients conditional legal status. Congress must quickly move to support and pass a legislative solution to protect our Dreamers.
I urge [NAME] to support these legislative solutions to protecting the DACA program and the hundreds of thousands of people who rely on it for access to jobs, education, and security.
Thank you for your hard work answering the phones.”
