after spending weeks going through all the boxes of stuff we finally got out of storage, it seems clear that my old food dehydrator managed to go awol at some point. the BOX is here, but it is empty. richard agreed that a food dehydrator would be a handy thing to have, so we ordered an excalibur, which is pretty much the mercedes of dehydrators. (it's very cool, and you can remove all the trays and use it to proof bread, make yogurt and dry wet shoes, lol).
it arrived yesterday, but i didn't have a chance to do anything with it. today i plan to get a load of apple slices and perhaps banana chips going. doing half the apples plain and half with a sprinkling of cinnamon and sugar, to see which we prefer.
i also ordered a new digital camera. my current one is 10 years old and quite the dinosaur at 1.3 megapixels. the new one is a canon powershot A1100IS at 12.1 megapixels. i really wanted a dslr, but for an extra $400 or so i had to come to terms with the fact that it was a WANT not a NEED. lol. it is scheduled to be delivered on monday, after which, assuming i can figure out how to use it,lol, i will likely be taking pictures of dehydrated foods and posting them here,lol. i will also likely re-photograph all my soaps and yarn and change the photos on their listings in various places like etsy, 1000 markets and the enchanted glen.
