A Nightmare Begins

Morgana awoke with a small start, forcibly dragging herself from the nightmare that had just been clawing at the corners of her mind. Vague visions had assaulted her; a Cabal facility much like the one she and Nikola had incapacitated, full of scientists and sober suited operatives. And there had been prisoners and screaming there too. Awful ( Read more... )

Kate had, actually, been in the process of getting a full night's sleep when the furious knocking roused her. Vaguely wondering who would be coming to see her at three in the morning, but just awake enough to know that it had to be important, she rolled over with a groan. Swinging her sweatpant clad legs out of bed, she rose sleepily with a grumble and moved to the door.

'Easy there, Rocky, I'm comin'" she drawled to herself before turning the knob and nearly taking a fist in the face as the mysterious knocker kept at it. She swung backwards for a second, dodging,

"...Morgana?"

Morgana didn't bother apologising, barging past Kate and into the room. Standing in the corridor would risk someone overhearing her.

"I need your help," she stated hurriedly. "Nikola's gone off to a Cabal facility and he's in danger. I have to get out of the Sanctuary."

Kate blinked once, letting the information sink into her sleep addled brain. Nikola. Jackass vampire boyfriend Nikola. Heh, Kate hardly cared how he fared at the moment, but that wasn't the point. Cabal facility, she must mean the hidden southeast of the docks, it was the largest and only unknown in the area.

Kate knew the location very well, her disposable cell had been receiving texts reminding her that she was late to show up and report there for three days now. She'd made the excuse that she had to wait for the perfect window to sneak out, but the truth was that she had nothing concrete to show for her time here. No top secret security codes, no access to the mainframe, it was pathetic. (Not that she'd been trying as hard as she could....)

Kate bit her lip in hesitation that was all too real, "But aren't you on crazy lockdown status? The Docs will have kittens, very very angry kittens."

"That's why I need your help," she said determinedly, choosing to ignore the real point Kate was making. "You can get me out. If I can get to that facility in time, I can save him. I saw it in one of my dreams."
