Manhattan
Woody Allen disliked his work in this film so much he offered to direct another film for United Artists for free if they kept "Manhattan" on the shelf for good.

Gone with the wind
Vivien Leigh reportedly did not like kissing Clark Gable because she said that he had excessively bad breath due to smoking.

Master and Commander
To create an authentic sense of camaraderie among the cast, they were all housed in special quarters, away from the rest of the crew. Designed like a gentleman's club, there was no TV, and no crew member was allowed in without being invited. It was nicknamed "The Monkey Bar".

When Harry met Sally
In the first draft of the film, Harry and Sally did not end up together. It was only later, that Nora Ephron and Rob Reiner decided that Harry and Sally belonged together.

Bram Stoker's Dracula
In the scene where the heroes bust in on Dracula and Mina, Dracula turns into a bat-like creature and frightens the heroes out of their wits. Oldman had problems with this scene, feeling constricted in the suit and not very scary. Coppola told him to whisper something scary into each actor's ear, which Oldman did with relish. No one knows what he said to them, but they all look absolutely terrified in the scene.

The age of innocence
Jay Cocks first gave his friend Martin Scorsese a copy of Edith Wharton's novel back in 1980. At the time, he told Scorsese "When you do that romantic piece, this one is you". It took Scorsese seven years to finally get round to reading the book.

Dangerous Liaisons
When the novel "Les Liaisons dangereuses" by Choderlos de Laclos was first published in 1782, it was considered so scandalous that when Queen Marie-Antoinette commissioned a copy for her personal library she had to have it bound in a blank cover so that no-one would recognise the author's name or title.

Much Ado About Nothing
During the Oscar season in early 1994 The Samuel Goldwyn company spent $10 million campaigning the film to garner the film Oscar nominations. They sent bulky packets to all members of the academy and played up the film in hopes of getting their film on the final ballot. The effort was all for naught, the film didn't get one single nomination.

Tim Burton's The Nigthtmare Before Christmas
In the Italian version, Jack is voiced over by Renato Zero.

I've got no idea that I liked costume movies that much.
