This was such an excellent story! I love how you write the sex between Dominic and Adelle because it's so in character and so realistic.

Can't wait for the epilogue! (and maybe a fluffy story after this?)

Thanks. Glad you enjoyed it. Maybe a fluffy story next, or possibly something dark. I have no idea really :)

Oh my, oh MY. What a story. I enjoyed this SO much. I love the optimism in the ending - god knows they need it. Anyway, excellent job, I'm amazed when I think back on, like, chapter 5 or something and realize the amount of stuff you'd written since then. And of course, I can't wait for the Epilogue, even though I'm a bit concerned - I hope it's going to be all jolly and merry, 'cause the things lately, especially the latest episode, have me slightly worried about a D/D disaster coming up, and I don't even know why...
Thanks for this awesomeness!

Thanks - glad you enjoyed it. All I will say about the epilogue is that there is still some plot to come and maybe some angst as well.

I'm working on it now. I was sort of planning to get it out before the last ep aired - I have a little more time now but I've written quite a lot of it already.

Well, all the talk on the group about elevator sex obviously got to me! Epilogue due imminently (literally) Thanks

I love Dom in this. He's frantic, comforting, professional, stoic, conflicted, comforting, concerned, out of control, satisfying, professional and ultimately stunned. Talk about running the table. All of it worn on his sleeve, out there to see for anyone who's looking. At one level, that troubles him. At another, I think, he views it as inevitable.

And the elevator at the end--he does what he needs to do to try for some sort of balance, but his empathy for Cole and what she's trying to accept/deal with is strangely compelling.

Obviously, I really enjoyed this. The first time and this time when I've been far more vocal about it.

I didn't speak to Adelle earlier b/c I'm kind of jealous. I try with her but you make it seem effortless. I'm doing a RP now with someone who's more comfortable with Dominic so I'm forced to be Adelle. I think it's been good for me but, at times, it's felt like chewing glass.

I hope you look back moderately fondly on Let's Pretend, assuming I can ever bring it to a conclusion.

It's been so lovely getting your comments to this fic, it's given me an opportunity to go back and reread it as well.
Dominic's many emotions are, I think, the result of what has gone before; it's all sort of been building. Yes, he'd hate to be so exposed but at the same time recognise the reason for it. The balance between them shifts as well - all through this Adelle turns to him for comfort, or allows herself to be comforted - which is an immense shift for her. You write Dominic so strongly I'm always relieved when you get how I am portraying him.
As for Adelle - there's a lot of her in Let's Pretend and she seems as herself as she can be in a situation which is out of control and outside her comfort zone. She's such a set of contrasts - hard and soft, vulnerable yet tough, honest and manipulative. I'd have killed for a snippet of backstory on the show - but I guess this way her past is practically a blank page.

I'm looking forward to more Let's Pretend.

I think my Adelle sensitivity might actually be coming from the next bit of Let's Pretend b/c of some of the things I decided to include. That old--some people might not like this thing. The only thing I remember about her past from the show is Harding/Ambrose/Someone telling her Victor/Roger was the least of her indiscretions.

That's what relationships are about really--balance, not 50-50 necessarily but not too far out of kilter. When things are too out of balance, there is trouble. And we have all been there.

I like your Dominic in this. He's a little different than the Dominic in Game, Set and Match (I think that's the title) but the latter Dominic was still playing his role and this one isn't.

Hmm - it sounds interesting and I think people are following the story so I can't imagine you could do much with Adelle that would put your readers off (we all know that in some universe, maybe even the one you are writing she puts him in the attic and almost destroys the world...)

You've given Dominic a compelling backstory - so you probably do need to look a little more closely at Adelle.

The only other thing from the show, from
season 1, is from the episode where they are drugged, when Echo goes back to a Rossum lab at the University Adelle says (I think) that she did to punish her. No idea what that was about. Mind you there is a lot of extrapolating to be done in some of the other episodes.

I'm suitably intrigued now.
