Christmas was full of the usual drama. Actually, that's a lie. The drama was pretty unusual, and it didn't last, which was a relief. Everyone was over at our house for appetizers and drinks, and some people had a few too many and forgot how to handle their liquor. My 91 year old great uncle fell down before he left, and was pretty much a perv for the rest of the evening. I am trying not to let this affect my usual respect and affection for him. My cousin had shots on an empty stomach. I kept an eye on him for the rest of the night just because of how pale he was after...things. Then we went to my uncle's for dinner and presents, and other than the perviness, the drama just disappeared. It was a quiet night. The food was decent, I had to hand out the presents all by myself, and then I was so tired I passed out on the floor. I would like to note that I had NOT been drinking, unlike everybody else. Almost everybody else anyways. i got cute sweaters, lots of socks, and a super soft scarf. AM got me a Poland guide for the trip this summer...saweet. I was thinking about picking one of those up. I got good smelling stuff and hot chocolate. mmm.
And for once!!! I actually fell asleep before 3 in the morning. By midnight I was dead. I read for about a half hour and then put Bones on my laptop and pretty soon my eyes were closed. It was before 1. Seriously, that's impressive considering my record for the past couple of nights. It's after 1 now, but I'm hoping to be asleep before 3. It's Ken's birthday tomorrow and I get to sleep in. Woohoo! I can at least get used to sleeping in right now, even next semester my earliest class is 12:30. Then again, like people love to remind me, that just means I can get up early and get things done.
Today was more fun than I expected. Instead of dinner at Grandma's, it was dinner with Aunt Sue. It was good. I met Wayne's fiancee for the first time, as well as Katie's bf. He was cute and seems to treat her really well. I'm happy for her. Dinner was very good. I ate more than I expected. Then we played some Wii. I got a personal record and winning score of 174 in bowling (wii or otherwise) and trounced them all in golf staying 1 under par. weeeee for wii!!!! Overall it was just a good relaxing evening.
Presents with the parents were after that. I got sweaters and a HSM game and Hairspray and HSM 2! I also got this adorable little tea pot and a wooden box of Bentley's tea. It's a gorgeous box and the tea is supposed to be good. Apparently that is some big manufacturer from London. I also got a new DVD/VCR....this was not entirely necessary, but much wanted, considering my current DVD/VCR is MISSING ITS REMOTE BECAUSE MY BOYFRIENDS MOM THREW IT OUT. I blame my boyfriend, not his mom. Although I did threaten to physically harm him if anything happen to it when I let him watch it for the summer...so far this has been a hollow threat, and should probably stay that way. I might still harm him.
I finished Inkheart tonight. It sucked. With the way it ended, the second book sounds slightly intriguing, but it's written by the same author containing the same flat characters, so I just can't force my way through it. Maybe I will find a summary on the web somewhere. Is there anything in this world I can't find on google? I didn't think so.
Anyways, Happy Birthday to Ken. 4 days until my own.
I think one of my biggest flaws is that I have trouble letting the past die, and stay dead.
