Teaching people to fish
People come to me all the time and ask me to feed them.
I quickly pull out my fishing gear and head to the river, and in no time have a fish or three for them to eat.
As I give them the fish I explain how they could catch fish.
I do this so that they can become self-reliant, strong and proud, able to stand on their own feet.
I also do it so they will quit bothering me.
Some of the people pick it up with no problem at all.
And then there are the ones who complain that it is not their job to catch fish.
Just once I would like to let them starve, or at least make them cut bait.
