Introductions are hard.
I have very recently been asked to put together an introduction for myself in the form of a bio for an upcoming musical I will be in (more in that later in the season, most likely), so in the spirit of getting things done, here we go!
Ladies and gentlemen, my bio for the show's program, slightly edited.
Hi! I'm Ale (ah-lee / ah-leh) or morettaallstar, I'm mostly a techie but sometimes I sing, or translate, or manage projects, and frequently I bake cake.
My biggest inspiration is that one editor for Bon Appetit who is always smiling in her videos. She's so happy to be around food. I feel that in my soul.
Or my grandmother. Same reasoning.
My biggest weakness is my ankles. Both of them. Or freshly-baked croissants.
My biggest strength is singing musical theatre finales while my onions burn, but salvaging them at the last minute by taking them off the hob just before the last big ending note.
("One more dawn! One more day! One day," move pan, "MOOOOOOOORE!")
I'm probably the best in the cast at doing the Macarena. Bet you didn't know there was a second part to the Macarena.
I'm probably the worst in the cast at bungee jumping. I'm fine with heights, but my hair goes everywhere.
My biggest fear is probably that one song I sing by myself alone on stage with no one else on with me oh god (HELP ME).
My biggest hope is for people to come and see the show and have a great time.
(BUT NO SERIOUSLY HELP ME. BRING FRIENDS.)
Short bio:
Alexandra is glad to be back on the steel deck. Her This Theatre experiences include stage managing, designing and operating show lighting, and a few interesting on-stage roles (Jacobean wife, cow, nun, anthropomorphic personification of a benevolent AI). Other parts played in or for theatres include stage-hand, book-writer, front of house, props lady, seamstress, barmaid and emergency chorus.
Alexandra is overjoyed to be a part of this event, especially here, now, in this dress.
