"This can't be that hard." Violet squinted at one of the cookbooks, the wooden spoon in her hand dripping on the floor without her noticing. "This really-"
She looked back at the bowl on the counter, her brows knitting in consternation. The batter in the bowl looked nothing like the picture. It looked lumpy in some spots, and liquid pooled in others. "Come on. It's not that hard. Just... emulsify already. Please?"
She stared at the bowl for another second before she ran the back of her wrist over her forehead to get the sweat out of her eyes - it was roasting in here, because she had the oven on. When Violet Baudelaire put her mind to something, it would happen. It would happen, by hell or high water, and she had decided that She Would Learn How To Cook.
"I'm talking to a bowl," she groaned, leaning back against the counter. "I'm just losing it. Absolutely losing it." She blew out her cheeks before her breath escaped, her bangs fluttering until she saw - "Hey. Can you cook? I- I'm hoping I don't just... blow up the kitchen while I try." She gestured at the bowl, hoping that Sookie would give her a hand.
