Lorne's mother is here, and it's lovely, as ever. Kai took a while to warm up to her, but she expected that what with all the strangers he's been meeting lately. She was patient and gentle and let him come to her, and eventually he showed her his toys and let her carry him, and he was cuddling her by bedtime.
So I think we're doing all right there.

Also with all of this Lorne's birthday has utterly sneaked up on me. Maureen says she can keep Kai if I want to take him away for the weekend, which I think I'll do. I just have to find an utterly fantastic place where someone with a broken leg can have a good time.
