Leah had been awake for a while, but she hadn’t wanted to move. She was too comfortable lying in the soft bed, and she was more than enjoying David’s possessive hand on her stomach, and his face pressed against the back of her neck. It had been a while since she’d shared a bed, and now she remembered everything she liked about it. The warmth, the security, and the intimacy.

It didn’t hurt that the expansive windows across from the bed looked out onto Sydney Harbour, either. Leah was home. Or at least she was in the right country. She loved New York City, but nowhere was like Australia. The colours, the sound, the smells, and the people. She watched as white dots glinted on the bright blue water, boats making their way across the Harbour.

David grunted against her skin, and shifted to roll onto his back. Leah stayed on her side, her blue eyes still fixed on the world outside. He could give her the world. David’s ability let him teleport anywhere, and it appealed to her wanderlust. It wasn’t the only reason she liked him though, was it?

She frowned as she cuddled the pillow. No, it wasn’t. She liked him before he told her his secret. She had fast become fascinated by him, and the more she saw of him, the more she wanted him. His Jumping was just an extension of who he was.

David made a distressed noise, and she rolled over to rest her head on his chest and slide a leg between his as her arm draped over his torso. He settled down, and held her tightly against him. Leah looked up at his face, and smiled. The Sydney Harbour was pretty bloody impressive, but he was more so.
