home for real this time ...
i thought i was done with navy stuff minus commissioning, but then the navy was like "oh no you di'n't". so i had pt this morning. running behind a brigGen (which, due to his age, was quite the acceptable pace, so it felt good). then came commissioning which was actually really cool. what an honor to witness... aww they're all baby officers now! i only got the opportunity to salute one of them, but it made her happy lol my aunt and a couple of cousins were there cuz they're really good friends with one of the commissionees so that was cool to see them.
said an actual goodbye to mickey today. not cool. i might see her when i go to boston in a couple weeks, but that's not for certain. and she probly wont come back next year. excellent. we got some mad awesome pictures in our whites today before i left. i'll put them on facebook A.S.A.sS.heS.endsT.hemT.oM.e.
the navy decided to finally be awesome and send me my cruise dates. i get flown to norfolk 30 may and return 24 june. so that's what, like 3.5 weeks. there'll be a bundle of non-nurse midn from my unit in norfolk at the same time, plus a senior nurse, so i'll have plenty of people to hang out with when on liberty, but i dont know how much my ship is gonna be in port. i'm on an LHD, but i dont know which one yet. that means i'll be surrounded by marines. supposedly LHD's have the largest hospital units so that's cool. i'm a little nervous but the fleet is supposedly 300% more relaxed about stuff than my unit so i guess i dont have to be nervous. and i know the basic etiquette stuff and i'll learn what i dont know pretty quickly, i presume. it'll be an experience, that's for sure.
still trying to see if i can get emt certified this summer. i can't do it at occ due to the cruise, but supposedly there are other places. we'll see.
i'm again in that state of post-school shock that i had last weekend until several rotc'ers came to stay with me for a better part of the week. it'll just take some adjusting. it's weird to not be around the same people all time. it'll be interesting to see who does what this summer and if anyone drops out. hmmmm
ok i'm done. goals for the summer:
-keep room fairly clean
-read
-exercise 5 days/week, uphold situpness, increase pushup and runness.
-not spend a lot of money (<$15/week while home which seems like a lot but isn't)
-visit people in ann arbor regularly, at least through may
-write to marrianne cuz i'm gonna miss her like crap
-go to a dci show cuz i'm gonna miss them all like crap
-not snack
-go swimming
-grow out hair
-camp at least 3 times
that's good for now.
if anyone's interested, go to the tiger's game july 13th or 14th (the website has it screwed up so i dont know which). navyweek!
