Title: Where are the kitchens?
Fandom: Lord of the Rings (movies).
Rating: (G)
Time Period: After events in Lord of the Rings: FA 21.
Summary: Sam just has to tell her.
Author's Note: This is quick ‘n’ dirty (for definition see the
F. A. Q.).
This comes after
Eaten his fill; this is the possible epilogue I mentioned in the Author’s Note for
Eaten his fill. Someone had to tell Éowyn the truth of her stew and I could imagine this small scene very easily.
Sam is a very new character to me so forgive me if he feels ‘off’ in any way.
This is the final story in this short series which consists of:
His sister’s stew A feast not for one Eaten his fill Disclaimer

The bowls were set before those gathered at the table; Rosie smiles nervously while Sam discusses trees with Faramir.
When it is announced the evening meal is served, Sam grins and picks up his spoon with relish, not noticing the quiet restraint of Faramir. After he’s swallowed a mouthful of the stew, his spoon clatters against the bowl and he reaches, fast, for a goblet of water his host has, discreetly, nudged forward.
“Is something the matter, Master Samwise?” Éowyn leans forward, having heard his spoon fall.
“Yes, m’lady,” he splutters and Rosie’s cheeks are a sudden delicate pink.
“Sam!”
“Sam-dad!”
“Might I ask what it is?”
Faramir lowers his gaze.
“The stew, m’lady,” Sam replies, wiping his mouth with a napkin and ignoring the distress of his wife and daughter.
“The stew?”
“’t’is terrible, m’lady,” he promptly states, meeting Éowyn’s worried gaze. “Where’s the kitchens?”
Éowyn silently gestures and as Sam passes, he is stopped by a hand on his arm and murmured thanks from the Lord Steward of Gondor and Prince of Ithilien.
