Title: A moonlit visitor.
Fandom: Merlin (BBC).
Rating: (G)
Time Period: During, season 1.

I simply felt I had to write this: the show is filled with action and dramatic moments and I wanted something quieter and without angst.

Moonlight skittered across the flagstones, keeping the shadows around the bed at bay. It tickled his cheek, a wisp against the dark blonde hair that stuck to his forehead. It seemed quite at home with how it entered the room, caressed his skin.
Just as she was. Morgana smiled at her whimsy and brushed the hair away from his forehead. His face was completely buried in the pillow; the coverlet barely covered his body. He had had a long day and yet still put the time aside for her visit. She sat beside him, a wrap held tightly to keep the cold at bay; the only warmth she felt was that fading between her legs.
He looked so peaceful, passed out on the pillow. Raven strands of hair brushing his cheek, she lightly kissed his cheek and stood; she had to be gone before dawn began. As she stood, his hand whipped out and caught her wrist. “Duggo,” he mumbled into the pillow.
She sat once more. “I have to,” she whispered, peeling his fingers from her wrist; she’d forgotten how strong he could be. “Sleep, Arthur.” She leaned closer and crooned a few notes of a lullaby she knew. His grip relaxed as he fell more deeply into slumber. She smiled and shook her head; he was a grown baby in these moments but a deeply tired one.
The door closed quietly behind her, the moonlight shone strongly, uninterrupted, and stroked his hair, his cheek. He murmured and turned, face away from the window and the moonlight.
