He groans, a hand over his stomach.
She shakes her head.
“I think I ate too much.”
“I’d say you did.”
“I don’t think I should’ve eaten the fudge.”
“The fudge or the fudge with the cookies, muffins and pies?”
He cracks an eye open. “Did I eat all that that?”
She looks around the room, with its discarded wrappers and containers. “From the looks of it? Yes.”
He groans again, eyes closed.
“Should I call Doctor Whale?”
“How about,” she regards him carefully, to ascertain his exact condition, “I fetch something to settle your stomach and if it doesn’t settle, we call Doctor Whale?”
He rolls onto his side, clutching his stomach --- and groans. Loudly.
