The world can be a friendly place!
Through all this pessimism you find on lj, I thought I'd try remind everybody that the world CAN be a beatifully friendly place.
I as reminded this morning by two things. The first would be, about a week ago I left a taxi driver high and dry for a fare, so I wrote him an IOU. Got the same cabbie this morning, who asked if I was cameron, I said yes and he asked if I remembered the IOU. I said I could pay it today! And he shook his head and said:
"don't worry about it too much. It's not like you put me out of house and home, it's fine"
I tipped him double my fare :)
So, in a good mood I skipped across the road to the bakery to get myself a delightfully delicious pastry for breakfast! Wandered in, asks for a spinach and ricotta roll, and the woman gave me two, saying:
"oh this other one's a little over done. I have to give it to someone, and you're a growing boy!"
I promptly turned red and gave her $5 instead of $4, and thanked her profusely :)
There is in fact, nothing wrong with the second roll. It was, if anything, more deliious than the first :)
And, yesterday at work, I was emailling my previously mentioned in other posts friend, Byron! Just complaining about the day, and he asked when my break was. Our breaks matched up so we went to grab a coffee.
He paid for mine, saying:
"crappy days can always be fixed with coffee!"
If I weren't so shy and nervous around this boy I would have hugged him on the spot ^.^;
So, the world isn't such a terrible place! There ARE good people out there!
I did my part trying to join that crowd this morning too. Pye arrives today (yay) and there was still a lot of things of ours in her room, so I got up extra early and moved everything out of her room to a new temporary home, so that I can ship it to the garage when I get home.

So all you pessimists out there, the world isn't all terrible things! Try think of something nice that happened for you recently,
